heart's desire

Thanks to Kim Millar easy to follow pattern, I managed to finish this heart within 2 days!

At the moment, I am still not sure whether I should make it into a pendant or just leave it as is. Background is a folkart painting done years ago.

This heart was tatted using DMC size 20 thread.

Dollie

I have decided to complete the unfinished tatting I did sometime ago. It is now a dollie.
This pattern was a free pattern by Iris Niebach. However I made a mistake at the Josephine Knot part and ended up having to tat another 8 to make it into an oval dollie.

Celtic Knot Earrings

These earring were tatted from a pattern book by Rozella F Linden entitled "Celtic Tatting Knots & Patterns. It took me quite a while to understand the weaving part but once I got the hand of it, it is easy. Within 2 days I managed to tat 3 pairs of earrings. My only headache is ending them neatly as I don't enjoy sewing in the ends. They are tatted using DMC Cebelia size 20.

My fluttering Heart completed using DMC Cebelia size 20 thread. This pattern was taken from Tatting Hearts by Teri Dusenbury. I love her book on the hearts and will attempt to tat more hearts when I find the time.

Large cross

I know, I know I have been MIA for quite a while. So many activities have kept me very busy. Other interests have also kept me away from tatting. 2 weeks ago, I decided to tat a cross using Lizbeth thread which I purchase some time ago. Pattern is taken from "Tatting with Visual Patterns" by Mary Konior. Using Lizbeth size 20 colour Jewel. Eventually completed it and now it is underneath a pile of books being pressed down. Difference colours at the joining could be seen and this makes the cross a little untidy. I am still trying to figure out how to make my work neat when working with colourful threads.

After anxiously waiting for my colbalt shuttle from Grizzly Mountain Arts (www.grizzlemountairnarts.com), it finally arrived on Monday ! Yippee !! It is so beautiful and my initials are engraved on the inside of the shuttle. The shuttle came with 3 other bobbins in the box.

damaged shuttle

I can't remember now, but I believe I have this shuttle some 20 years ago. It was hidden in my drawer before I even learnt how to tat. Anyway, I am very disappointed that it is now broken. Wonder what to do with it now.

Unfinished tatting

Not feeling too well today and thought I'd bring out my unfinished tatting to cheer me up. Other priorities have taken over my tatting hobby. Just could not find time to complete what I have started. See the half way through Mary Konior's black magic bookmark and a mini dolly.

finished Singapore River

It have always been telling myself that I will paint the Singpore River one day and bravo ! I finally get down to painting it at the water colour painting class.
Started sketching it in October, painted it mid way but had to stop painting in Nov and Dec as teacher took a month break in Nov and I was too occupied with lots of activities in Dec. Eventually commenced my class in Jan and finished it in 2 lessons but struggled with brush strokes due to lack of practice. I did some touch up on the painting a little here and there but am too lazy to take another shot of it. So here it is:

Earrings

Spent the quiet new year looking through my notes on tatting and came across this tatted medallion pattern by Lisa C Trumble. I turned the pattern upside down and tatted a pair of earrings instead. These earrings were tatted with Heather's (www.hajdesigns31.etsy.com) hand dyed thread in Mulberry cream size 20. Added some beads to bring out the purple. Can anyone spot a mistake in the earrings?

blue ring

Thanks to Marilee Rockley's ring pattern, I came up with this blue ring and added in beads to enhance it. The ring eventually turned out too big for my finger. It is indeed a charming accessory!
