Originally I thought I had to go buy hankies to sew them on. Chuck them aside and due to COVID-19, I took them out again. As I also quilt, I took out whatever cloth I have and cut them to size, hem them and took the edgings and sew them onto these handkerchiefs. Dont they look gorgeous? I know I have to press them but am happy as is.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBh5Q-doWy9DaDwMlNkHCHoTqKAV9dj8vg7om11Fxh22_o3oge6cZfWEDNVxVyZjwjXCHBfJ21FYBB-ff8DdwzPSTk1uxNcP2TEIX_HeBDPXFC29UL35Ik_s6YMrN5Di0VLEDsFXI2AbM/s756/20210907_124517_resized_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="756" data-original-width="756" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBh5Q-doWy9DaDwMlNkHCHoTqKAV9dj8vg7om11Fxh22_o3oge6cZfWEDNVxVyZjwjXCHBfJ21FYBB-ff8DdwzPSTk1uxNcP2TEIX_HeBDPXFC29UL35Ik_s6YMrN5Di0VLEDsFXI2AbM/s320/20210907_124517_resized_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyQ4AfF18JyT5GsvwU7TGbSVQO58IEAZK2153zfcTnCq0xVH5LU54tK7mMfmaO0KVisun2m6HuG23Mj0lzBKcO4rIgWHFDEZ3OBWJyTsnykm-TNSF26vPK2886409ttN0Hmm1py7AinLk/s756/20210907_124437_resized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="756" data-original-width="756" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyQ4AfF18JyT5GsvwU7TGbSVQO58IEAZK2153zfcTnCq0xVH5LU54tK7mMfmaO0KVisun2m6HuG23Mj0lzBKcO4rIgWHFDEZ3OBWJyTsnykm-TNSF26vPK2886409ttN0Hmm1py7AinLk/s320/20210907_124437_resized.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p><br /></p>Changhua09http://www.blogger.com/profile/07009582644362144902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438999851463348295.post-1688913029437311202021-03-16T20:57:00.002-07:002021-03-16T20:57:20.300-07:00<p><b><span style="font-size: large;"> This was taken from Today on Radio by Charles Stanley</span></b></p><div class="reading-options-container" style="background-color: white; border-top: 1px solid rgb(60, 60, 60); box-sizing: border-box; color: #3c3c3c; margin-bottom: 60px; padding: 15px 0px;"><div class="row" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-left: -15px; margin-right: -15px;"><div class="col-sm-6" style="box-sizing: border-box; float: left; font-family: MuseoSlab300, serif; min-height: 1px; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; position: relative; width: 389.988px;"><div class="functional-links black" style="box-sizing: border-box; padding: 3px 0px 0px;"><b><span style="font-family: arial; text-transform: uppercase;">The P</span><span style="font-family: BrandonMedium, sans-serif; text-transform: uppercase;">RIORITY OF PRAYER</span></b></div></div></div></div><article class="read-article" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #3c3c3c; font-family: MuseoSlab300, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px 0px 100px;"><section class="article-main-content daily-devotion scripturizer-content" style="box-sizing: border-box; word-break: break-word;"><div class="devotion-date" style="box-sizing: border-box; float: right; padding-bottom: 10px; padding-left: 20px; text-align: center;"><span class="week-day" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #e14105; display: block; font-family: BrandonMedium, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal; text-decoration-line: underline; text-transform: uppercase;">TUESDAY</span><span class="month-day" style="box-sizing: border-box; display: block; font-family: "Surveyor Display 700 Italic"; font-size: 60px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal;">16</span></div><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a class="text-orange show-bible" href="https://www.intouch.org/read/magazine/daily-devotions/the-priority-of-prayer#" style="background: 0px 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #e14105; font: inherit; outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: color 0.2s ease-out 0s;"></a><a class="text-orange show-bible" data-book="Luke" href="https://www.intouch.org/read/magazine/daily-devotions/the-priority-of-prayer#" style="background: 0px 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #e14105; font: inherit; outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: color 0.2s ease-out 0s;">Luke 11:1-4</a></span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;">Prayer is not optional for a Christian. In fact, Jesus considered it essential, even for Himself. Though He was God’s Son, He still took time to be alone with His Father in prayer. His disciples saw this and asked Him to teach them how to pray. The prayer Jesus taught them is a model for every believer. It shows us how to:</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;">• <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">Come with a focus on the heavenly Father. </span>When you praise the Lord, your mind lets go of earthly concerns and centers on His desires and glory.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;">• <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">Surrender to Him as Lord and King. </span>The goal of prayer is not to get God to do what you want but to align your desires and requests with His will. Such prayers are the ones He promises to answer.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;">• <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">Approach the Lord with a humble, dependent spirit. </span>Recognize that He is the one who provides for your needs and sustains your life.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;">• <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">Seek His forgiveness and protection from temptation.</span> Ask God to uncover anything unholy in your life and replace it with righteousness.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;">Developing a consistent prayer life takes commitment. Daily activities will crowd out time with the Lord unless you reserve a segment of each day to pray.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 18px; margin: 0px 0px 30px;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">Bible in One Year: </span><a class="text-orange show-bible" href="https://www.intouch.org/read/magazine/daily-devotions/the-priority-of-prayer#" style="background: 0px 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #e14105; font: inherit; outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: color 0.2s ease-out 0s;">Judges 10-12</a></p><div><br /></div></section></article><a href="https://www.intouch.org/daily" style="background: 0px 0px rgb(255, 255, 255); box-sizing: border-box; font-family: MuseoSlab300, serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: inherit; outline: none; text-decoration-line: none; transition: color 0.2s ease-out 0s;"></a>Changhua09http://www.blogger.com/profile/07009582644362144902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438999851463348295.post-88822988194790047552020-08-19T01:23:00.000-07:002020-08-19T01:23:17.277-07:00This tatting pieces were done several years ago and I have decided to take post them. I could not remember where I got the pattern from. The turtles were soft toys given to guests who stayed at Bayan Tree in Phuket. They were very well made indeed. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ3sQORSSx1YIOcmxtBSEL02OSfHxn0jclBAs1YxOL2F0wvCtyOOYFuTm8pyIfes7vjImYuU2z1ps7495am0f7P-5cG-v7-qzNiKObYcuJ2bM7UJu0-J06mAiG6nYrZ8-lBSwWd9aRlOQ/s2048/20200814_192153.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ3sQORSSx1YIOcmxtBSEL02OSfHxn0jclBAs1YxOL2F0wvCtyOOYFuTm8pyIfes7vjImYuU2z1ps7495am0f7P-5cG-v7-qzNiKObYcuJ2bM7UJu0-J06mAiG6nYrZ8-lBSwWd9aRlOQ/w320-h240/20200814_192153.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTw0WdHg26X0XpxRSwK6jV00SHCfvV65wXr2T66oWS2FTBNHfB9kLZH-sc7f0NKen2D9oSPqVKZtVxftXAsnnnJsA1fXMq-avx5QXw6Ya46wlp9aZCw8VQjP144cKIHFSOi7C9ModgDuk/s2048/20200814_192021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTw0WdHg26X0XpxRSwK6jV00SHCfvV65wXr2T66oWS2FTBNHfB9kLZH-sc7f0NKen2D9oSPqVKZtVxftXAsnnnJsA1fXMq-avx5QXw6Ya46wlp9aZCw8VQjP144cKIHFSOi7C9ModgDuk/w320-h240/20200814_192021.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />Changhua09http://www.blogger.com/profile/07009582644362144902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438999851463348295.post-42288279884979438922020-08-13T00:57:00.002-07:002020-08-13T00:57:48.490-07:00<div>Just finished the Raven Dance quilt block from the book ""Quick & Easy Quiltmaking - 26 Projects featuring speedy cutting and piecing methods". This book was purchased in 1998. This is supposed to be a much bigger quilt but I ran out of fabrics. Size of this quilt measures 47"x 47"after adding the borders. May extend it further but lets see. The original pattern does not have the pinwheels in the 4 corners. I think they look ok except that I have orientated one of the corners wrongly. Can you spot which one?</div><div> </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJPqWuHohV0y3l7UHmGbjMMZpFK9sk1RLCieuxvIl8t1NZ6yqoFdigtYD9s4phkIjKND8GDQNuvw4PqJmhGN8AXlIxGJFwXT3lmKSx9gwZUrvLuUDbwuaTYYi0ZrHb4E4-QA2c0FbB-dk/s2048/20200714_134506.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1958" data-original-width="2048" height="383" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJPqWuHohV0y3l7UHmGbjMMZpFK9sk1RLCieuxvIl8t1NZ6yqoFdigtYD9s4phkIjKND8GDQNuvw4PqJmhGN8AXlIxGJFwXT3lmKSx9gwZUrvLuUDbwuaTYYi0ZrHb4E4-QA2c0FbB-dk/w400-h383/20200714_134506.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>Changhua09http://www.blogger.com/profile/07009582644362144902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438999851463348295.post-72368398862602544802020-08-11T18:51:00.003-07:002020-08-11T18:51:58.785-07:00<div>This sewing machine belonged to my mother in law who passed away in 2014. The machine used to sit on a little wooden cupboard with beautiful iron cast pedal/legs. However one day without our knowledge she got her helper to remove the top, threw the pedal, cupboard down at the bottom of her flat and sent the machine to someone to have a handle fitted to the handwheel. We were shock and tried to retrieve the cupboard and pedal but someone had already taken them away. A great treasure for that person who picked it up. Anyway, I inherited the sewing machine. It was bought in 1950 and should be 70 years old now. I even have the receipt and a small worn out instruction manual of this vintage sewing machine. The present iron cast pedal with a marble top was given to me by my sister in law when she moved home and it is now sitting at my home too. The sewing machine is still functional and manual.</div><div> <br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2lEB80GIytRCkCFD4DWxyh6BjkrN1jWFdZA23iILuxpiy7OTj8wJhHYjv49AK3mRPtPuOELmAMjvCzy59DWFPhowDStRk_594mz6Inhemd-Qk15vYT3vl6Er4K3LraIYQtOK38I4Z-Zk/s2048/20200809_163417.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2lEB80GIytRCkCFD4DWxyh6BjkrN1jWFdZA23iILuxpiy7OTj8wJhHYjv49AK3mRPtPuOELmAMjvCzy59DWFPhowDStRk_594mz6Inhemd-Qk15vYT3vl6Er4K3LraIYQtOK38I4Z-Zk/w240-h320/20200809_163417.jpg" title="Singer Sewing machine" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><u><span style="color: #000120;"></span></u><br /></div></div>Changhua09http://www.blogger.com/profile/07009582644362144902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438999851463348295.post-67993069181669749992020-08-06T18:44:00.000-07:002020-08-06T18:44:03.457-07:00<div>I have also just started to learn how to crochet and managed to make a throw, yay! <span style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; color: black; display: inline !important; float: none; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">These lovely yarn were Christmas presents from Brenda 2 years ago. After my cataract surgery several years ago, I was not too confident to sew anything, let alone embroidery. Also put tatting on hold time being. Tried to make small pieces like these and love how they turn out. Embroidered one on Thai silk and another on jeans material. May turn them into brooches or as embellishment for something else.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1UWUf-Bkj33wULnS__lg7cZ3VGOw1oG_LDmfxemc_SVMXgVhwj5YsraFjl4KK8LIuXEJ8uKZqViYKBMFkvGsMVk5_JK_h9z3yBcruhFlROiCh7OF2C3ILyV4r6CCbquj_edoyI3gcMRM/s2048/20200805_135418.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1603" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1UWUf-Bkj33wULnS__lg7cZ3VGOw1oG_LDmfxemc_SVMXgVhwj5YsraFjl4KK8LIuXEJ8uKZqViYKBMFkvGsMVk5_JK_h9z3yBcruhFlROiCh7OF2C3ILyV4r6CCbquj_edoyI3gcMRM/w251-h320/20200805_135418.jpg" width="251" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisvx9tVE2n7PTtXZXsdFiCTsJH6gdR67hISSFAVaFAU50vyxVxxEJQ5Z_NPFsQfcqR9Ouy5uKTKKLD1nQE5blj_OOZEDlBJt5rAnqwYIh5V7VBhJv3_3pzQFIJNugvYqZEgf_1h3slOK4/s2048/20200805_135401.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1645" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisvx9tVE2n7PTtXZXsdFiCTsJH6gdR67hISSFAVaFAU50vyxVxxEJQ5Z_NPFsQfcqR9Ouy5uKTKKLD1nQE5blj_OOZEDlBJt5rAnqwYIh5V7VBhJv3_3pzQFIJNugvYqZEgf_1h3slOK4/w257-h320/20200805_135401.jpg" width="257" /></a></div><br />Changhua09http://www.blogger.com/profile/07009582644362144902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438999851463348295.post-14321435169914590722020-08-05T00:23:00.002-07:002020-08-05T02:10:13.960-07:00<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">Besides tatting, I am interested in other crafts too - origami, quilting, felt piecing, embroidery, painting, etc. All these excite me and seeing what I have created makes me happy. There were some challenges in the beginning as the notebook given to me was an old one, the keyboard sucks and the screen blurry. To help me move along with my work, I took my TV monitor and use it as a monitor. Took a spare keyboard at home for the keyboard. The old notebook acted like a CPU. It was smooth sailing until my WiFI was down on Labour Day night - Friday night. Called Starhub who sent a technician to check and found that it was the cable laid outside my apartment that was faulty. Since it was a Saturday, the company Netlink was closed and no one could come to fix the problem. After numerous called to Starhub, they managed to arrange an appointment with Netlink who could only come on Tuesday morning. With government encouraging everyone to work from home during this period, it was impossible for me to work without WiFi. Not possible too to go back to the office. Frustrating! I had to use my phone data plan temporally but to avoid additional cost, bought a Singtel prepaid card instead. This was also temporary. Technician only managed to change the cable on Tuesday noon after several phone calls exchanges to Netlink. Apparently the problem was - the rats have been enjoying a feast eating through the cables in the false ceiling outside the apartment! I pray that it will not happen again. 😂Happiness when WiFi was restored on Tuesday, hooray!!</div><div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"><br /></div><div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">Got new HP notebook on 13 May 2020.</div><div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"><br /></div><div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">Work has kept me so busy that I do not have time to do my crafts but will post them soon.</div>Changhua09http://www.blogger.com/profile/07009582644362144902noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438999851463348295.post-72948656042330223572016-09-27T05:53:00.004-07:002020-08-03T06:49:08.771-07:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Its one of the medallion on the edge of a big cloth. I used DMC 20 violet coloured thread. Doesn't it look beautiful against my lamp shade. I have still not decided whether to leave as is or add more rows and turn it into a doily. Will see.....<br />

Pattern is "Gossip" from Mary Konior's book. Thread used is DMC No. 20.<br />

<br />
Thank you Kathy Niklwicz for pointing out that this pattern is actually from the book <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">"Christmas Angels & Other Tatting Patterns" by Monica Hahn</span>. Phew I finally found the pattern! It sure takes an experienced Tatter to spot it where the design comes from.<br />

There is another row to tat but I am just happy with this simple edge. This pattern is taken from "Tatting with Visual Pattern by Mary Konior" with DMC white thread. It's frustrating that after I finished this piece, certain sections look "off white". I suspect that the ball of thread is not totally white, that's why I prefer to work with coloured threads. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Can anyone suggest any tatting design for the back of my gown so that the bra strap will not show? Initially I was thinking of just covering the back with a skin coloured material but it does not look nice. I was also not able to find similar lace that is used on the front. Therefore I am thinking of using cream coloured tatted lace (simple pattern) to cover the back discretely. I intent to wear this gown for a very special occasion in January.<br />
