Medallion on Edge

This pattern is definitely from the book Tatting Patterns by Julia E Sanders.  Its one of the medallion on the edge of a big cloth.  I used DMC 20 violet coloured thread.  Doesn't it look beautiful against my lamp shade.  I have still not decided whether to leave as is or add more rows and turn it into a doily.  Will see.....
